Celebrate!

Did you leave a comment on my June 26 post to win 2 stamp sets?  So far there's been a bunch of hits but only 1 person left a comment.  Your "odds" of winning are high!  Please check it out!

Tomorrow is July 4.  It's the day we celebrate the founding of this great nation and the turning away from tyranny to independence.  We'll be enjoying a fun day at church with a potluck picnic, potato canon contest, duct tape sculpture contest, a dessert contest, and a water battle.  Something for everyone!  I made a special card to celebrate this fab holiday using products from an assortment of companies.

The paper, the star, and the thread are from Fun Stampers Journey.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix and is the Rays folder by Tim Holtz.  The Celebrate is from a set by Close To My Heart.

I stamped the heart using FSJ's gold ink.  It really shimmers!!  And doesn't the thread make it look like the star is shooting across the sky?  I love the starry vellum, too.  I cut the circles with the Journey Circles die set on my Journey Grand.

I had a Celebrate stamp by FSJ but really wanted the banner look.  I found this in a CTMH set.  I added a bit of color with Copic markers then used my Stardust Clear Gel pen to highlight the letters.

I hope you have a fun and safe holiday and remember, if it wasn't for our founding fathers and early ancestors having a vision for this nation we would not be the United States of America.  Celebrate the reason for this day as you enjoy friends and family!
