What? Wednesday Again?

You're kidding me!  Wednesday??  Seems like just yesterday it was Wednesday!  Well, you know what you get to see today...  My desk!  Yep!  It's "What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday"! These days are just flying by too quickly!  And, if you don't know what this is all about just click HERE to go to the Stamping Ground to learn more!  I've been taking part in this world-wide desk viewing blog tour for over a year.  Are you ready?

As you can see my Big Shot is in use.  I'm working on a class kit for my October class that a CA lady wants early.  She wants it way before Halloween so I have to have it done and to the store by Friday.  While I'm working on hers I'm also making kits for the class since I have the paper and I already have about 3 signed up.  You can see the kit for the lady on the far left in front of my spool of jute.  Next is my paper trimmer, class directions & supply list, Big shot, and ATG gun. My OTT light bulb is dying so it is up to let it cool to remove so I can get a replacement.  Good think I have a coupon for Joann's.

And I did get a card made for our pastor as he celebrated his birthday last Friday but we had cake and ice cream for him at church Sunday night.  This card took me over an hour to make!!

I seen a card somewhat similar on Pinterest which inspired me.  I love that web site!!  The lighthouse and sea gulls are from a set called "Light the Path" by Red Rubber Designs.  The text is from a retired T.A.C. set called "Wishing You."

I did a lot of sponging while my card stock was still in the Spellbinder Scalloped Oval die.  I used a 1 1/2" punched circle to form the moon.  There are dots of Clear Wink of Stella brush in the purple to represent stars.  I wanted to use my white gel pen but the darn thing's tip wouldn't work....  any helpful hints??

I also added lines in the ocean to represent the glittering water.  Just hard to see.  I have stamped the "happy birthday" and a Scripture verse, Psalm 119:105, inside the card.  The Scripture stamp is very old and made by Darcies Country Folk.

Now, if you please, hop on over to the Stamping Ground for the opportunity to see up to 100 other desks from all around the world.  When I joined this tour there frequently was about 125 bloggers joining in.  The past few months only about 80.  But I do get lots of inspiration and some opportunities to pray for people.  Grab your coffee or tea or whatever and join in!  Oh, and Happy October!

Such a lovely card and you have explained the process perfectly, thank you for that, sometimes we need to know how people create stuff and it is nice to share. I am sure your Priest enjoyed his birthday with a lovely afternoon tea and gifts from his parishioners. I do hope you have a wonderful crafty week, try and catch one of those days as it flies past will you.

Hello Carol. That's a lovely card - and a beautiful verse to put with the lighthouse. Admit to having a naughty little moment, as I imagined the lighthouse on its side lighting "my feet"! Sorry - warped sense of the ridiculous here...
I haven't ever thought of colouring the papers whilst still within the die - it gives a great edge.
Well done.
Take care. God bless.

Sounds like you are a busy crafter and good to see I'm not the only one with a die-cutting machine out. Your card is lovely - I like the rainbow shades in the sponging and the twine detail is perfect for the theme. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #51

Gosh Carol, you have a very busy and colourful desk. Love looking at all those lovely arty products. Love your card too, the sponged background is gorgeous. Sometimes my white gel pen does the sames and I use my nail to gently scratch off the dried bit on the point, but you probably already did that.
Thanks for paying me a visiting and your comment Lottie #61
