A Tub of Stamps

A couple weeks ago a new Ace Hardware opened in Sahaurita, AZ (just north of Green Valley) and we decided to check it out.  I got to visiting with Lori, a gal that works there.  One thing led to another and the following is what she gave me....

This tub is about 1' deep and 3/4 full of stamps from Stampin' Up!, DOTS, Rubber Stampede, Stampscapes, and many many more!!!  Oh my gosh!!!  I was definitely in the right place at the right time!  And I think I used to have a couple of these back when I started stamping almost 20 years ago!!

Here's just a SMALL sample of some of the stamps.  Quite a few of the SU! sets were not even mounted!!!   I will be sorting out what I don't want to consign at the AZ Scrapbooking store in Green Valley, AZ. A gal from the church we attend gave me a large baggie of stamps a few months ago so I'll have to find them to add to these to sell.  But I did get a card made for my dad's birthday this weekend....

I did a bit of color blocking to use up some scraps.  No, it didn't even make a dent in my scrap pile.  The stamps are all by The Angel Company.  My dad likes baseball and golf but I've given him so many golf themed cards over the years I just had to do something different....  We'll be going out to dinner at the Silver Saddle Steak House Saturday night along with friends to celebrate his day.

Treasure trove! I have had this happen a few times for me. It is just so much fun to go through them. I have 6 pop flats of stamps that I don't and won't use sitting in my studio that are going to go to the next Wild Women of the West Stampers that has all the group together.

Carol, happy, happy to your dad from the Northern Rocky Mountain eastern front! Hope the Silver Saddle served up their usual tasty steak specials.
Our need for guy cards always says make two, leave one blank in the sentiment die cut and shift colors or total color scheme and use watermark stamping on background papers to vary and enhance 'offshoot' cards stashed for quality choosing when necessary.
Grand Slam could easily be the presentation conveyance for the new movie HOME RUN released April 19. He might like a rerun on the card as a ticket folder. Ha! Has HOME Run opened in theaters there? Hey, your card is a grand slam right along with the slammin' steak dinner! Keep Looking UP!

Using the Sky Blue card base repeated under the focal point sparked interest making the eye travel the full scope of Grand Slam. Good idea.
