Desks and Sunbursts

I would like to say we're having beautiful weather but, alas, not.  For the last 2 days we've had wind and lots of it (enough to make the skirting on our double wide manufactured home keep blowing off in spots) and now clouds with the possibility of rain.  But it's a good day to craft!  But, I won't be doing that either.  I have an appointment for my car to see a mechanic in town.  The rattle is much worse and now there's a vibration.  No, not good vibrations either.  Bummer.  Anyway, today is great in that you can visit desks all over the place (Europe and U.S.) and see some fabulous projects!  And thanks to Julia at the Stamping Ground for putting all this together.

My desk is rather idle right now but I just bought some Color Burst, set 2.  I found my watercolor paper and it's on the far right.  Far left, my paper trimmer and red Cricut and some stamps.  And you can see an orange card that I made Monday.

This is the card you can see.  All products are from Fun Stampers Journey.

I sponged some ink on through a stencil and splatted some Silk (a liquid type of ink, sort of).  This is card 2 as I was playing with an idea that totally went ugly.

I plan on taking this card apart and doing something else.  Just awful.  The text turned out good anyway.

I hope to visit desks tomorrow after work but please head over to the Stamping Ground and start visiting now!  Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy!

Blimey, I think you ought to move into the garage the number of times you've been there recently! I hope you can get it fixed without too much hassle or expense. Your orange card is lovely, the other one is still nice too, I think you're being a bit mean to it. Poor little card! Have a great Wednesday, Cara x

Hi Carol. Thanks for already visiting - and thanks for the way you are faithfully praying for John. We really so appreciate the support we are getting across the world. I don't think the hospital staff can quite believe he is still alive after all he went through! But he is - and isn't doing too badly at all.
I love the orange card. So sunny amidst the continued dull weather. Although, having said that, today is really beautiful!!!
Take care - Trust there is no more damage to your home. God bless.

Wow, Carol. Wind to loosen the skirting. That is pretty decent blow! We are to get some of that in here tonight. You really did not have to share. We are already getting rain on and off, but not enough to unplug the computer just yet. I love the orange card. The technique on the flower? I'd never thought to do that! I either use a pre-patterned paper or plain old cardstock. Creative! The other card... I think if you lose the patterned belly band, you'll be fine. Try a subtle color that will off-set the floral spray. Look forward to seeing its reconstruction.

We had terrible weather over the weekend too, so I didn't feel too guilty doing my sewing! I had done some decorating too, so that made me feel better! I adore that orange flower card, so simple and yet perfect...every aspect is just right...love it 💖💖💖

Love the orange card! Your desk might be idle but it is full of nice things just waiting for you to get back from the mechanic. Is every yellow thing blooming down your way as well? Ahh-choo! PJ #54

Hi Carol. Your orange card is lovely. I have never used colour bursts but they seem very popular around in blogland! Hope you get your car fixed too.
Have a happy week.
