Workdesk Wednesday But No Workdesk

Happy 13 years of  What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

It's that time of the week and I am linked up with Julia of the Stamping Ground for week 676. Isn't it amazing this "blog hop" has been going on 13 years! Thanks, Julia and all the deskers for keeping this going!

Today will be hit and miss as I have a great reason! We're repainting our kitchen! I had 2 guys come over Monday and paint from the bottoms of the top cabinets up and ceiling white. They also fixed a broken countertop corner that there was just no way we could get it done. Today I'll finish the painting from the white down.

This is early Monday. They have the cupboards and countertops protected. They had drop cloths on the floor but sadly, some of the paint managed to get through but with the new flooring it was so easy to clean. After they got done with all the white I started.

What was cool was that skinny lanky tall kid on the right was able to get under my kitchen sink and fix the triangular piece in the next photo. It was loose and no longer attached to the wall! Any weight would have make it drop and cause all kinds of horrible issues!

First, I had to remove all the yucky caulk around all the countertops and sink and replace. I went with a nice white bathroom caulk since this is the kitchen.

I had to wait 24 hours for it to cure so no painting yesterday and I was gone anyway.

I can't tape off the new white so I have to work with a very steady hand and be prepared to do touch up. I tried to tape off the base boards but my tape was being a bugger and not sticking good so out came the wet cloth to clean up that mess.

This is SOOO much brighter than the room all that brown color! I'll take a picture of it completed to share next week. I'm sure tonight I'm gonna be so sore from having to get down on my knees to paint next to the base board then on a small ladder to paint around the 2 small windows at the sink.

I hope you all have been doing well! I'll be on and off but here mostly Friday visiting desks.

I don't envy you, Carol. It is not easy painting a kitchen, but it looks like the guys did a great job of keeping the paint contained. Happy 13th from # 1.

I don't mind painting...I painted tiny leaves all around my kitchen years back...werid how I thought it looked nice and hid the real leaves trying to get in the cracks in the windows! Years have gone and now its all painted out and the windows are now double glazed. Best thing we did! Have a great week! Happy 13th Anniversay WOYWW ((Lyn)) #21

Well its Friday now, I hope youre feeling super accomplished! I bet it all looks wonderful. the worst job in my opinion, you did first, the caulking. Hate it and am not very good at it!Cheers to your right new kitchen. Gsh, does that mean you might get the bug and have to redecorate another room now?!!
