What's On Your Workdesk?

Yesterday and this morning I've been prepping for my Wednesday video and I actually managed to get a picture of my desk in the throes  of the prep! Usually you see my desk almost ready for the video. But today, you get the full enchilada! This is week 654 and I've linked up with Julia of the Stamping Ground.

I'm making a slide up or pop up card using an old die from Spellbinders called Window Pop Die.  I'll be showing it and also how to make a similar one just using a paper trimmer. I taught the paper trimmer style years ago at a class. So.. I better tell you about my desk! Far left is a tray of mostly white scraps. Then you see my package of green card stock, a scrap piece of paper that I used when I was sponging a poinsettia, my sponges, then a piece of card stock with the die in my Platinum. At the top of my glass mat are pieces of print card stock, poinsettia dies, scissors, and washi tape.

I didn't get to join up last week as my hubby had a check up (was good) then we ran errands.  And for the last 2 weeks we've been taking care of a friends crippled dog as he's in the hospital with some serious health issues.  He is starting to improve after 3 surgeries and more. My hubby visited him Monday and tried to encourage him. He okayed a neighbor helping as we have to drive 12 miles one way to feed and clean up the dog messes.

Anyway, today's project is one of the last ones for Christmas gifts as I'll be using this card and a similar to hold gift cards. Then it's back to making Christmas cards as I'm a bit short.

Hello Carole, sounds like you have a lot on looking after your friends dog. Hope he continues to improve and be allowed home soon because his dog will be missing him. I gave up on paper trimmers a long time ago, I now have two sizes of guillotines which suit me better. Hope the filming went well. Have a good week. Elizabeth x #18

Well done for looking after the dog, the poor old thing must be missing your friend so much. The pop up card sounds good fun, I wouldn’t know where to start with that, lol!

Hi Carol, don't ask where I've been but I've only just got round to opening the laptop. Look forward to seeing the pop up card. Poor dog must wonder what's going on, hope the owner can get back home soon. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x14x

Oh poor dog, bet he’s not understanding where his human has gone at all, how like you both to volunteer to look after him. So glad to hear that your friend is improving a bit now, 3 surgeries and a long hospital stay…definitely need a Bob to come over and encourage! Loving the site of the full enchilada of a desk! The scratch paper where you inked the poinsettia looks absolutely lovely. I save white scraps, I go through white card more than any other colour so am always going to o find a use for a small piece, whereas the other colours I tend to have a long hard look at the size of the scrap before deciding it’s fate!!

Gosh! 12 miles one way, that’s a long way to go to look after the dog. I don’t suppose you could have taken him home with you. Hoping your friend recovers soon. Angela #11

Hope your friend gets better soon - it will have helped him to know his dog has been well looked after. And white scraps are the ones I use most - I keep a pile of them within arms reach, if for no other reason that it saves me walking across my room to get to the fresh card! LOL!
Late AGAIN, but Happy WOYWW!
