Another Week, Another Desk

Here I am, back again with my desk. Yep, and it is kinda busy.  This is yesterday afternoon as I was toying with a project for today's video. This desk view is part of a group of wonderful ladies who are willing to share their desks (or work area, or project, or whatever) and link up at Julia's blog, The Stamping Ground. This is week 631.

You can see 2 parts of future cards sitting on the dark side of my glass mat.  My ATG roller and packages of ephemera are under its handle. Another piece of the print paper is far right. My paper trimmer is barely in the picture on the far left with a pack of yellow card stock under it. This card is called a Drapery Fold or Pleated Skirt fold. I'm not sure where I'm going with this yet. I used a 12" sheet of paper that is scored and folded and kinda cut in half and after it's folded it is 5" x 5 1/4". It can be cut down and I will probable do that to get the look I want on my 5 1/2" square card. I have all kinds of ideas running through my head so I'm not sure which direction I'll be going.

Anyway, head over to the Stamping Ground and have a look see (a phrase I remember hearing when I was a child).

I'm intrigued about that card you are going to make. You always seem to experiment and I like that. Good luck with it. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Oooh, the Dark Side of the Mat, should be next in sequence for the Star Wars franchise, lol!! I hadn’t realised there was such a thing, thought glass mats were clear on both sides….shows what I know eh? LOve the bright colours that you’re working with, hope the video goes well!

I too like that you experiment with your cards - mine are always so boring! Have a good week Helen #8

I'm always amazed by the different sorts of cards that can be created, I have no idea what any of those folds are, I hope you will share when finished. I agree with Jan, I love the bright colours.

Drapery fold sounds interesting. Will add you to the list of WOYWW folk I have to re-visit to see projects hinted at on Wednesdays!

So very late this week!

I am looking forward to seeing your card. I don’t do ones that need folding, I always seem to fold incorrectly 😟. Have a great weekend Angela #3

That folded card sounds most intriguing, Carol. It reminds me of one of my longstanding UFOs (a large album about my dad) which has a kilt on one page - I printed out an image of the family tartan and folded it to make the kilt. Note to self: must finish that project sometime.....

Happy belated WOYWW,

I think I may have tried that fold on a card, I used a double sided paper and it looked rather nice but I hadn't really thought about whee I was going with it either. I seem to recall it had a couple of re-inventions before I sent it to someone. Good Luck with yours! Happy WOYWW Cindy #23
