Workdesk Wednesday

I've been MIA for the last few weeks due to vacation. Last week I was doing laundry, paying bills, and stuff that needed done upon return.  I did get back to my desk the end of last week but wanted to share some of the highlights of our trip.  I'm joining up with Julia of the Stamping Ground blog and this is week 627.

Our trip was planned with friends to visit the Ark in Williamstown, KY. Oh my gosh but if you get the opportunity you must go.

We checked out the John Wayne Museum in Fort Worth, TX. That's John to my right and Robert Mitchum to Dean's left.

This was the main reason for our trip, to visit the Ark. We spent almost all day here! Totally amazing!

The next day we spent at the Creation Museum near Cincinnati, KY. Another great day!

Next major stop, the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO. We were unable to go up as all the tickets were sold out in advance. Oh well, the museum was great!

Due to the weather we went to Kansas City, MO instead of Branson, MO. Preferred possible tornadoes over probable. Weather held somewhat.  This is the main hall in Union Station. Ate afterwards at a fun restaurant called Fritz's that delivered your meal by a small train that traveled a track over your head.  It dropped your meal in a basket onto a tray that lowered to your table!

You can see the tray suspended from the train and the tray that the meal basket is dropped on to.

We even visited Santa Claus, Indiana! Bought some gifts and ornaments!

And here's some of our souvenirs...

At the time of this photo we already gave a couple to my dad. And the Ark ship has already been given to our pastor and wife.

We visited much much more but these are the highlights. We had rain or very cloudy skies most of our 2 weeks on the road and traveled almost 4300 miles! We've never made a trip like this before and it wasn't cheap but it was SOOOO worth it!

Ok, hopefully I didn't make this too photo heavy. I have a huge amount of photos and will get prints made to scrapbook. Now please head over to the Stamping Ground and check out actual desks!

Sounds like you really made the most of your vacation, what a wonderful trip. So nice to see places that I will probably never visit in a lifetime across the pond. I love bringing gifts back for family and friends so they can share the experience too. Happy WoywW Tracey #13 x

You missed out on seeing the city from on top of the Arch. I have been many times and each time I find something new to appreciate. I truly enjoyed seeing all the places you had visited. Trust me, Branson is just a tourist town that has grown by exponential proportions. I'm glad you shared your trip and it took me back a few years and before the lockdown. Happy WOYWW from # 3.

Sounds like you packed a fair bit in, but it was a shame not to be able to go to the top of the arch - I've seen Elizabeth's pics ! Have a great week Helen # 2

What an amazing holiday you've had, Carol. I am green with envy for your visit to the Creation Museum and the Ark! I have been a supporter of Answers in Genesis for many years and followed how it was constructed. It's totally amazing. If I ever manage to get your side of the Pond (highly unlikely but one can dream!) that would be one of the top places on my list to visit.

Happy belated WOYWW,
