A Desk and Flower Making

We've been having some beautiful spring weather until yesterday when the wind really kicked up. Hopefully today the wind will cale and the dust will settle. I have lots of yard work to do but prefer no wind due to allergies.  And hubby came down with a head cold, no fever, no coughing, just head congestion and runny nose. But enough of life.  Today is the day I join in with Julia at the Stamping Ground and a great group of brave ladies willing to show their desks and all the turmoil or whatever on them. I'm actually ready for my morning video (10 Arizona time) and so I'm playing with a new Spellbinder die set of a mason jar and flowers. It will be 5 layers yet can fold flat. I love stuff like this!

You can see the die set to the left of my glass mat and the beginning of cutting flowers at the top of the mat. Far right I'm making leaves and stems.

I did change something on my desk.  I added a small wooden crate to hold my cups full of tools, coffee cup of blending brushes, and some glue pens, a stapler, and a couple other small things. Seems a little bit more organized. I  really need to clean that pile of GKW (goodness knows what) behind my left lamp base.  What a mess! I did get the pile to the far left a bit more tidy and got stuff put away.

Well, I guess that's it for now.  I hope you have a wonderful week and happy crafting!

Hi Carol, hope the wind dies down and you can get to your yard work. I'm sitting here doing a bit of flower making as well in between desking. Interested to see you five layer flat folding card - I like that kind of thing too. Had to smile at the GKW pile - I am trying to keep mine under control but it's hard - where does it even come from? Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy xx #23

I think the wind is whizzing around the world today as we’ve got gales in Wales too...and rain...it’s really dreary today so I plan to sit in the warm and do some painting this afternoon! That little crate will be worth its weight in gold keeping your tools together, good move!

The weather has been pretty much the same here and today is cold and wet sadly. The die looks interesting and I hope we get to see the results when the project's finished. I've never heard of Mary O'neil and will have to look her up if I can. Have a lovely creative woyww and a good week too. Angela x19x

The wind is crazy - we had to weight down the wicker garden furniture lest it blow into the shed, the cars, the potting bench... Very happy to be sitting inside desk hopping! Liking the idea of a multi-layered card that still folds flat. Sounds like magic to me! Look forward to seeing it... :)

catching up…

Wind. Eventually it gets you down doesn’t it. I remember a friend went to Tenerife for a fortnight and the Trade winds from Africa did not cease...they spent a deal of time drinking around rather then getting out and enjoying because they were desperate for shelter! It’s windy here today, even had a storm warning on the forecast. It’s making the rain slam against the windows. Hopefully it will blow over and take the clouds with it, could really use some brighter skies! I love the little crate, looks as if you’ve corralled your pots! Well, I guess you have....probably won’t need to put a gate in though, huh! Look forward to seeing five layers that fold flat. I usually overlook these die sets, thinking they are a lot of faffing and cutting, but I’m already fairly confident that you’re going to change my mind!

Am loving the crate, a proper corral for the pots. Bonus, they don’t need a gate! Hope you got into Tucson OK, at least the mister will have something to do again! Glad I don’t live somewhere permanently windy, it gets you down in the end, you just end up moving around outside for one sheltered spot to another. (I noticed this on holiday in Tenerife, we had three days of African Trade winds, warm and velvety but I was very over wind by the time they ceased!) loving the Muira fold, your VP is a clever ladÅ·!

The new desk addition looks good Carol. The mason jar set also appears to be very useful. Hope the wind calms enough for you to get the yard work done. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

LOL! That pile of GKW made me laugh! I do love little things like crates etc for coralling tools and oft-used items. As always, stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

Lovely desk view this week, Carol, and I love "GKW" - another fun set of initials to remember this week, along with Camilla's "PICNIC" - "Problem In Chair, Not In Computer" (i.e. operator error! Like you, I love 3-D stuff that folds flat. I look forward to seeing the result of all that lovely die-cutting.

Happy belated WOYWW,
