Desks, Chickens, & Eggs

Did my post title catch your attention? I hope so as I have not only my desk to share with you but a fun card using a yolk of a paper called "Ingredient Two" from Authentique. And boy, is my desk busy! This weekly view is brought to you by Julia of the Stamping Ground, our head desker and keeper of deskers in line.  Anyway, I'm just being a bit goofy. What's cool about the paper is it has a quote on it by Virginia Woolf, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." I love it!  Is this giving you an idea of my card yet??

Anyway, my desk is first.

This is actually Monday afternoon.  I knew I was going to be gone most of yesterday and I was working like crazy getting a card made.  You can see the base to the left just off the edge of my mat. I have my PrismaColor pencils on my table and I'm coloring that little circle right in the middle.  When I took this picture I had my little Misti under my color chart, a scrap piece of paper to the left as I needed a 2nd generation image so it was getting the first, and as to the rest... I have no idea.  I did clean up my table a couple hours later when I finished the card and prepped for a video today on my Stampin Carol - Lots of Crafty Goodness page (which will also be uploaded to YouTube sometime after).

Wanna see the card??

I hope you didn't spit out your drink is laughing!  I got this paper from a fun scrapbook/paper craft store in Peoria, AZ, a suburb of Phoenix on the west side called The Paper Collage. Pam, the owner, is adorable and vivacious and I will be visiting her store next month! Anyway, I've been sitting on this for a year and Monday I had that ah ha moment! This style card is called a Split Front, at least from what I found on Pinterest. And the image I colored...

An egg. Well, the yolk anyway.  I actually have a stamp set with this egg and sentiment!  It's a retired on from Fun Stampers Journey.  Perfect!!! Now to figure out what goes inside.

Anyway, head on over to the Stamping Ground and check out the links to other desks.  Most will have a project to share or some fabulous scenery!

I always knew Virginia Woolf was a genius! That card is great fun and would cheer up anyone's day :-)
The yolk's definitely not on you, it's an egg-cellent piece of crafting which is all white by me.....ok, enough egg puns, I shell leave you to it.
