I'm Back At My Desk

If you are accustomed to coming around on Wednesdays and seeing my desk you notices I was absent last week.  And for good reason!  I was at a 4 day scrapbook retreat called the Cactus Crew Scrapbooking Crop.  I don't scrapbook but boy, did I  get some cards made!  So today, I'm back.  I finished unpacking all my rolling totes yesterday morning, got stuff put away, finished some partially done projects, and opened a large box of goodies I had ordered.

But as you know if you've been following me I usually take part in What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday and my desk is finishing a project (just 1 to go!).  This is all put together by Julia at the Stamping Ground and it's week 533.

I have on my work mat a purple tub that I made my own glue sponge.  Works pretty good.  I found the small tub, cut a Cello sponge to fit, and added Elmer's Heavy Duty glue.  I was careful to let each addition of glue sit and swell the sponge until I got to the consistency I wanted.  Next to it is a card that I just used the glue on some tiny word die cuts. Worked pretty good! Next to that is my Bloom Tool (aka Tool-In-One by Spellbinders) sold by Fun Stampers Journey.  Then the pile of goodies that came in while I was gone.  I'll be showing those on a FB live video at 10 am my time (Arizona, mountain standard time - we don't do daylight savings).

I will show you a couple cards I made at the Crop.  I used some PhotoPlay paper we got as a gift and an embossing folder I won. The sparkly pineapple was part of a prank one friend played on another.  That was a hoot!

So please now head over to the Stamping Ground and join in on the fun!  Catch you around the web!

Hi Carol. Oh my - a four day scrapbook retreat?! I don't scrapbook either, so, like you, I would have had to take other things to do... Those two cards look fun.
Take care. God bless.

I did miss you and had forgotten you were going on the retreat! I'm so glad you had a great time (very productive too, so a win-win situation!) Well done on making your own grey sponge, it sounds like it'll be very useful for all sorts of projects!
