The Great Pumpkin

As I was looking at the card I'm going to show here I was reminded of the Charlie Brown show, The Great Pumpkin.  At least that's how I remember the show (I wonder if it's on Netflix).   I was looking around the many pins I have on Pinterest and a card grabbed my attention and this card is almost a case.

I used the Journey Ovals dies to make the pumpkin and sentiment tag.  Love the Citrus Cooler card stock for the pumpkin but I sponged some Pumpkin Bread and Oatmeal Cookie inks on the edges of the ovals. I started with a Citrus Cooler card stock base, a layer of Whip Cream before adding the fab pattern layers from the Harvest Days paper pad.  The flower is from the Flower Party stamp set and the sentiment from the Sentimental Prints stamp set.  I fussy cut the flowers (sponged with Citrus Cooler ink) but the leaves were die cut using the Sweet Today die set.

I sponged some Citrus Cooler and Fresh Forest inks on the die cut leaves before using my Bloom Tool
(same price as the Spellbinder Tool In One but with more tips included) and stylus to make the veins in the leaves.  A bit of Neutral Twine to kinda look like the vines and the card is complete!

This card is relatively flat so mailing will be a breeze!  I think I have all that I need for Thanksgiving and Halloween cards now but I'm planning on ordering a few sets from the Fall Fest Promo to build up my stamp collection.  Don't forget to check out all that's on sale!  Head on over to the FSJ Specials page for more info!

Also, this month is Breast Cancer Awareness month.  Richard Garay lost his cousin, Sandra, to this disease in June 2014 (my mom died of a form of leukemia and colon cancer that month, too)  and he and the crew have partnered with local (greater Phoenix area) organizations to support and give hope to women currently battling breast cancer, their families, and those supporting them.  Therefore FSJ is sponsoring the first ever Be Brave: Create Hope Card drive.  The goal is 300 cards sent to FSJ (by Oct. 31st) that will be passed on to the organizations to be given out to those needing Hope.  Please click on the Be Brave link for the address and more info.
