A Bloomin' Desk

Well, my desk isn't blooming but it has been very busy lately but I'll tell you more about that shortly.  And today, being Wednesday, you should know what that means!  It's desk hopping day!  I appreciate Julia, the head desker from the Stamping Ground, for doing such an amazing job of bringing crafters together on a weekly basis.  Are you ready for my desk?

I just got my new paper trimmer by Tonic.  Nice thing about it is that I don't have to swing out the arm to cut 5 1/2" as it has a fairly wide base.  I haven't used it yet so can't give you a report on it.  To the right is a patriotic card for my Friday post.  And far right, the old Tonic trimmer that is now in the trash can.  Not a busy desk at the moment but it will be later today.  My desk has been busy this past week, especially Saturday.  Below are 2 of the cards I made then.  The patriotic card was made Monday but it's not quite completed yet.

Here's a couple cards I made this past few days for a possible special purpose.

I used a Memory Box die called Caserta Bloom.  I have a card pinned on Pinterest very similar and have lately been making cards with all that inspiration I have pinned.

The strips that the dies are adhered to I've had forever.  I have a bundle of them by DCWV called "Painter's Stack". This was a great use for them!  Both cards have coordinating Stickles added to the center of the flowers for a touch of bling.  The text is from an FSJ set called "Sentimental Prints".

I have a drawing going on right now going through July 9.  Click HERE to go to the post where you can win.  This drawing is only for United States residents, sorry.  The postage and possible customs costs are prohibitive to reasonable mailing.

And now I'll tell you about my special purpose.  I have a friend who sells her fabulous polymer clay projects in a gallery west of Tucson, AZ.  She told me the other day that the gallery needs LOTS more cards and she asked ME if I wanted to be a part of HER display!  She has a rotating round card display rack and we'll split the $20 per month display space cost.  I'm excited!  I still have lots of investigating to do as to do I need plastic sleeves, commission rate, and whatever but this may be a good outlet for me.  I'll still have plenty of cards for my church as I came across a LOT of old card fronts from trades and swaps I've been in over the last 10 years.

Well, this has become a long post but I hope you didn't get bored.  Remember to head over to the Stamping Ground to continue on the blog hop!

Your cards are so sweet! The diecut is so pretty. I finally got a wider paper trimmer, and I know what you mean. It's nice not to have to swing the arm out for everything. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #46

Gorgeous cards, Carol, and lovely delicate die-cuts. Congratulations on being asked to supply your cards at your friend's gallery! How exciting. Nice new cutter which I hope will work well for you. Thank you for your encouraging words on my blog, and for your prayers. I'm seeing the oncologist tomorrow so no doubt we'll have a chat about how I've been since the last treatment. Next one on Friday. So not looking forward to that!!! Anyway I am very pleased that I did manage to get in the studio and do some stuff yesterday. About time!!

Happy WOYWW,
