Workdesk Wednesday and Birthday Candles

Well, this Wednesday didn't seem to come so quickly as we were in Wyoming this time last week. We had a great time at our daughter's house and our youngest son also joined us for Thanksgiving dinner. Today I'm taking part in an international blog hop of desks put together by the head desker Julia over at the Stamping Ground.  This is week 287 already!  So much fun looking at other desks and getting to know the bloggers!  For more information on this weekly get together please click on the badge in the left sidebar.

This weekend is our youngest granddaughter's 10th birthday!  I'm busy getting her card made and had my Cricut and Art Philosophy cartridge working.  Also in this pic is a set of CTMH stamps that coordinate with the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The card is on my pile of scrap paper then scissors and whatnot.

Here is the card completed. I finely rolled 4 $5 bills then wrapped them with paper to hold them.  I tried to use straws but couldn't roll the bills that tiny.

I added Crystal and Red Stickles on the "icing" for bling.  The pink label has been embossed with a Happy Birthday folder.

I used the Cricut to cut the shape of the cupcake and stars.  The stamp set I used had a stamp to use in the stars then I added Red Stickles and used these as the candle flames.  I think our granddaughter will like this card.

Now that you've reached the end of my post I'd appreciate any comments on my card or desk and then please pop over to the Stamping Ground.  You can easily spend a bunch of time looking at up to 80 or so desks!  Grab your favorite beverage, sit back, and enjoy!

The first thing that catches my eye is you brilliant cricut machine. I don't think I have ever seen a red one. Gorgeous birthday creations. Keep smiling and creating.

That's a cool idea, to use the notes as "candles" on the cake.

What a neat idea, using money as candles. That would work for any birthday card, boys, girls even an adult.
