November 11, 1919 was when this memorable day was first proclaimed by President Woodrow Wilson and was called Armistice Day.
On June 4, 1926 the U.S. Congress passed a concurrent resolution requesting President Calvin Coolidge to issue another proclamation to observe Armistice Day but it wasn't until May 13, 1938 that it was declared a national holiday. On June 4, 1954 Congress amended to act and replaced "Armistice" with "Veterans" to include ALL veterans rather than just those of World War I. And so it is today.
I made a card to celebrate this day. Paper is by Pebbles.
The banner was cut off of one of the card stocks in the package. There is no stamping on this card. They layout was on 365 Cards yesterday.
I did add the little red buttons for a bit of embellishment. Seemed to me the card needed a touch of oomph. What do you think?

Great post, early or now just right on the dot! Carol, thank you for making a specific effort to honor those who have given their all for years and years and years. Now, many of them need medical assists. If you or others know of a Veteran's van (DAV) transport center, get in contact as volunteers are needed all the time. Drivers do not need to be veterans but care for the safe medical transportation of veterans. Your card honors all those folks, too. Pebbles did a fine job in red, white, and blue.
