Hubby's Valentine's Card

I'm still finishing up my Valentine cards and came across a cool tip on Pinterest.  It involved an embossing folder and embossing powder!  Sounds interesting, you say...  Well, looky looky!

I didn't quite get the whole embossing folder inked with my VersaMark pad before running the heart through it but the effect is pretty cool!  So it goes like this:  Ink the inside of your embossing folder that the background is raised (generally what's considered the back).  You may need to play around at bit to figure this out.  Insert your cardstock and run through your Wizard, Big Shot, Cuttlebug, whatever.  Carefully remove the paper and sprinkle on your embossing powder, shake off the excess, then heat.

Here's a closer view.  The raised texture is not powder embossed (unless you get too much VersaMark ink in your folder like the upper center in my picture).  This is just so cool in real life!!  The label is made from Spellbinders Labels 11 and the text is from a TAC stamp set.

I colored my white ribbon with a Copic marker to match my burgundy cardstock.  The bottom piece I used my Fiskars Treading Water border punch then ran this strip through my crimper for a ruffled look.  I think this card will be for my hubby.  He sure enjoys my cards.  I'll just have to go online and find a cool poem for the inside.
