Konnichiwa

I still have 2 more Seminar projects to finish but this is the last "card" project.  This Asian-themed card was designed by Angel Angela Kelley.  I met her in person for the first time at Seminar this year and she is truly sweet.  The stamp set is called Konnichiwa.  Normally I'm not into Asian but this set is a keeper!  This set was being designed a year ago and not in tribute of the Japanese earthquake/tsunami event.

We started with Maggie SWIC and matching cardstock for the card.  The original card used a circular tag and a hello stamp for the phrase but I needed a birthday card.  This text is from Tag Tidbits, a golden oldie set that is still current!  The little girl is stamped on white cardstock that was cut with Nesties Label 18.  There is no link yet but you can see it in the online catty on page 129. Her dress is pieced from the purple designed paper from the SWIC package.  I  believe the ribbon is from the Maggie ribbon collection but am not for sure.

I practiced a bit before coloring her with my Copic markers.  I love how her hair turned out!  The umbrella should have been blended a bit more.

This post was prescheduled to give me time to rest up and get to making cards again. Friday I have a class to teach at the Green Valley, AZ scrapbook store. Busy busy!!

You did great! I would not blend the umbrella more--it gives it a natural look and highlighting.

LOVE the hair and I think the umbrella is perfect as is. I like the depth of shadow and shading created by your strokes.
