America, the Land that I Love

I must celebrate this day celebrating the Independence of the United States of America.  Our republic was founded by Godly men of great faith and wisdom.  They had great foresight for this nation.  I am saddened to see how far we have fallen away from the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights.  But, enough of my soapbox at the moment.  I want to share a card I made using a new Rewards set A stamp called America I Love.

I embossed the red background with the new Tim Holtz texture plate called Rays the swiped it with my Brilliance Moonlight white for some depth. I don't yet have a link for this plate and it comes with another called Retro Circles in a set for $11.95.  Pretty cool!  I colored my image with Copic markers but had a bit of trouble with the shield in the bottom right due to it's small size.

But I still like the way it turned out.  I was blog touring some angels' sites and seen so many wonderful cards made with this image.  Check out TAC's Paper Crafting Community site (must join but it's free!) for some great cards!   Or find Angela Kelley's or Barb Foster's blogs.  Just amazing!!!

On another note, we're going on vacation this Friday through Tuesday the 19th.  I hope to have some posts prescheduled and will be checking in as I'll be taking the laptop with us. We're heading to Wyoming and Montana to see family and friends.  So looking forward to cooler temps, too!

2 Chronicles 7:14....
Then if my people (those who are born again) who are called my my name (Christians) will humble (admit sins and imperfections) themselves and pray (be knee-active) and seek my face (desire a closer relationship) and turn from their wicked ways (repent) then I (God) will hear from Heaven and forgive their sins and restore (heal) their land.
