Textured and smooshed

I'm a Technique Junkie and take part in a monthly swap with other junkies.  I played with a technique from the Dec2010/Jan2011 newsletter called Texture Plate Smoosh.  This is my first attempt at this technique.

I used a Fiskars plate with Claret and Bordeaux PH inks.  Interesting effect.  I have some weird cornering scissors to make the pattern piece corners and the Corner Chomper on the red base piece. I stamped the Fundamental Frame on plain white cardstock using the Claret and the scripture from Thoughts & Prayers in the Bordeaux ink.

I added buttons and white scrappers floss (use Bone Scrappers Spool instead) for embellishment.  The white ribbon was colored with a Copic marker.

This is an interesting technique and I hope to play with it some more.  If you choose to join Technique Junkies please let Pat know you heard of it from me!!

Please leave me a comment or rate the card to let me know what you think! Thanks!

What a nice bg this made - I haven't tried this technique "yet" - but I do like the results you got.

Nice technique, junkie! Those shades and hues have jazzed up a texture plant. Makes hauling out those texture plates seem doable once again. Been to an estate sale recently? I have need of another button box. You box is blest with coordinating colors, Carol. Of course, those Copics dye ribbon with such even ink! A touch of white from the crafter floss dances the eye among swirls to enjoy the entire card back to repetitively reading the sentiment.
Keep Looking UP!
