Newsprint Reveal Technique

This is a technique from the Technique Junkies newsletter. It's pretty cool and easy to do. And the best part, you probably have most of the supplies on hand! No special purchases! I highly recommend subscribing to this great resource! Just click on my link in the menu bar. And, if you do subscribe, please mention my name. And now for the instructions....

I cut out a piece of newspaper, trying to get as much print as I could. I chose my image (here I used a tree from Good Timber), inked it with Versamark ink, covered with clear embossing powder and heated with my heat tool. Then I brayered my chosen ink to cover the remaining newsprint as best I could. I even swiped the ink pad over it to get more coverage but I did have to use a tissue to clean off the clear embossing. At that point I started creating my card. I used Amelia SWIC, cardstock, and ribbon and a bit of stamping and voila! It's done! Pretty elegant, if I say so myself!
