Happy New Year!

I have received some late Christmas cards this week and rather than send Christmas cards this late I made some New Year cards.  These were great fun as I don't normally do this.  I went to Pinterest for inspiration but ended up searching for Star Cards.  What a great variety!

Can't really say any particular card inspired this but I love how it turned out!  Used different specialty papers on this one.

The Black/White Pearled Basics papers just shimmer so fabulously and the Vellum really sets off the star layers.  A bit of Black Licorice Twine and a few sequins and voila!

This card was as close as I could come to a card I seen  I used the Star Don dies and Gold Silk to set off the design.

Years ago I demoed some products at a stamp club I belonged to using Posh Impressions Sponges and Inks (and I still have these!)  The funky background is made using some glossy card stock with these products.  I do think the cool new Spring Parade paper would work wonderfully for this effect, too.

This stamp from the Be Happy set is perfect for this card and I used my Stardust Black Gel pen to make the word Sparkle pop.

Specialty Paper:
Pearled Basics
Vellum Designer Prints

Card stocks:
Black Licorice
Whip Cream

Accessories:
Black Licorice Twine
Special Celebration Sequins

Stamps:
Be Happy - from the Nov. KOTM, available about February or March

Dies
Star-Dom

Inks:
Black Licorice
Gold Silk

I hope to make a couple more similar cards as I just love how these turned out! They would be great for  guy's birthday cards, too. What do you think?

Great star cards! I'm coming up with no ideas for New Years cards this year. Stars is a great idea. I like the multicolored star cut out one, very festive. The other one is great too, would make a great anniversary card as well.
